Why Chocolate Brown is the Color of Summer — and How To Wear It

This summer, a richer, deeper shade is taking over: chocolate brown. It might seem surprising for a season long dominated by crisp whites and bold pops of color, but this shade of brown has quietly emerged as the chic neutral of the moment. It's also surprisingly easy to wear and a good swap for your usual black outfit.

Why It Works for Summer

We often associate brown with fall or winter, but this deep, rich shade shines in summer precisely because it feels unexpected and of course, It pairs beautifully with crisp whites, creamy linens, and my personal favorite - gold jewelry — making it a surprisingly versatile neutral that feels warm, chic, and timeless.

A Nod to The 90's

If you lived through the ‘90s like me, you will remember chocolate brown was a staple in that era — Sadly, (but thankfully kinda!) we didn't take may photos back then, so I don't have a flashback OOTD! haha. Today, designers are leaning into that nostalgic allure, with brands like The Row, Khaite, and Bottega Veneta making rich brown a central part of their collections.

Two Time It

It's the first time I have worn a double belt in a minute! I think the reason this combo worked so well because I teamed up an all metal vintage belt with a more contemporary leather belt- both with gold hardware. I highly recommend experimenting with belts this season for something fresh and new
